Neill Strain, one of the top British florists, organized an exhibition of spectacular antique, modern and rare varieties of roses as a part of the Chelsea Fringe events. The delightful rose fragrance and petals will transport you to a parallel reality. With a majority of roses in the store being relatives of the old fragrant roses pure indulgence is guaranteed. A Celebration of the rose is running from today till the 23rd of May; which I would recommend to all flower lovers.
In case you can not be in London this week or want a sneak peak of the event then keep on reading.
The event was planned to coincide with the Chelsea Flower show and to serve as a continuation of the flower celebration for eager flower lovers. With the bar having been set high by the RHS Chelsea flower show the event managed to outperform all the expectations. Just look at the photos.
Rare blooms in the peak of their beauty came from farms of Holland and directly from breeders. Roses with the history going back to the 1800s were sourced at Alsmeer from a museum, which is dedicated to preserving century old species. This is quite an important mission provided that there are so many types of roses lost to evolution and history with just a drawing left behind or nothing at all to remind us of their existence.
Breathtaking selection of century-old roses.
Kaiserin Auguste Victoria tea rose from 1891
Pink Pearl tea rose created in 1924
Else Poulsen floribunda rose dated 1924
The event also features roses so new that they don’t yet have a name. Those came directly from top of Holland’s breeders.
Most roses in sight had a sensational scent that filled the room with goodness.
And a couple of arrangements
And last but not least Country roses
I just wanted to stay there forever and enjoy the beauty, but all good things come to an end.
