On this road, houses number 27 and 46 are particularly noteworthy and are located just two blocks south of Campden Grove, towards the High Street Kensington tube stop. The second house, situated on a charming dead-end road, must be a delightful place to reside!

It is unquestionably one of the most Instagram-worthy locations in London during the wisteria season. Be aware that due to its popularity, weekends are not the best time for a selfie at this location as you will be competing with a multitude of Instagrammers and bloggers for a spot. It's highly recommended to visit during a weekday to avoid crowds and to respect the local residents.

This may be one of the cutest spots to see the wisteria in London. There are about five houses covered in the purple flower along this street. The buildings have lovely brick work and pale blue pastel doors which looks lovely when the wisteria is in full bloom.

Cheyne Walk, situated near the riverside, is an ideal location for a tranquil stroll at any time of the year, but it is particularly enchanting during London's wisteria season. A group of houses here are adorned with wisteria vines that twist around wrought iron railings and climb up balconies.

The road is divided by Albert Bridge, so it's recommended to explore both sides. Be sure to look out for some of the lilac doors that perfectly complement the wisteria!

Cheyne Walk, Chelsea: This street is lined with beautiful houses covered in wisteria. The sight of the purple blooms against the brick facades is truly breathtaking.

The generous owners of this house, located at number 23, select a different charity each year to support. Visitors are welcome to contribute to this cause if they wish.

Selwood Place is conveniently located just a short distance from Elm Place. At the end of the street, you'll find a stunning wisteria plant adorning 12A, a sight that is certainly worth a visit during this walking tour.

Continue on to Radnor Walk and look out for number 4.  This end terrace has a huge wisteria plant growing up the side and onto the balcony.

Begin your Wisteria Blossom journey at Chiswick House. The wisteria in the gardens is breathtaking, and the house itself, along with the rest of the grounds, is definitely worth a visit. Chiswick House, located in West London, is a magnificent 18th-century villa known for its exquisite gardens and architecture. A standout feature of the gardens is the remarkable display of wisteria, which is especially significant due to its age and size - some of the plants are believed to be over 150 years old. The wisteria is planted around the glasshouse, beautifully framing the structure and the rose garden beyond.

After departing from Chiswick House, stroll down to the river path that will eventually lead you to Chiswick Mall. This walk will take you past beautiful houses adorned with cascading wisteria. Don't forget to stop by Fuller’s Brewery as you pass by, as it boasts a wall covered in centuries-old wisteria. This walk also takes you past many quaint pubs and cafes, and concludes near the iconic architecture of Hammersmith Bridge.

Don't be confused, as I initially was, by the presence of "pergola" in both names and mistakenly believe there is only one wisteria spot here.

The wisteria pergola is extremely large and lush and with the park being away from the main tuourist locations this photography spot offers peaceful location for your photoshoot.

8. The Garden at 120 - City of London

Nestled high above the bustling streets of the City of London, the rooftop garden at 120 Fenchurch Street—affectionately known as "120"—offers a serene escape with a breathtaking view. This hidden gem, perched atop one of the city’s most striking modern buildings, is a haven of tranquility amidst the urban sprawl. What makes it truly special, especially for wisteria enthusiasts, is its carefully curated greenery, including the enchanting wisteria vines that drape elegantly over trellises and arches. During late spring and early summer, the garden comes alive with cascades of delicate purple and white blooms, their sweet fragrance mingling with the fresh, open-air ambiance of the rooftop. The wisteria here isn’t just a plant; it’s a centerpiece, weaving a story of natural beauty against the backdrop of London’s iconic skyline.

Escape the City's steel and glass in the tranquil churchyard of St Botolph's Aldgate, a stone's throw from the tube (Aldgate station). Here, delicate wisteria vines gracefully climb the garden fence, creating a stunning visual contrast against the iconic church's historic facade. Frame your shot just right, and you can capture the ethereal beauty of the cascading purple blooms with the modern skyscrapers of the City peeking through in the background – a unique juxtaposition of old and new London, perfect for a captivating photograph.

10. Ada Salter Garden, Southwark park

Ada Salter Garden in Southwark Park was a delightful secret spot for wisteria photography until 2024, when Southwark decided to renovate the old pergola that was draped with wisteria, resulting in the removal of most of the vines. I discovered the garden mid-construction during the wisteria season and was displeased with the timing of the construction and the methods of restoration. Most plants had been significantly pruned, and it was unclear whether they would be nurtured back to health or left to perish after the work was completed.

Fingers crossed that Southwark gardeners will do a good job and next year we will be able to enjoy the blossom yet again.

11. Eastcote House Gardens, Borough of Hillingdon

Here, you can discover a fairy-tale-like wisteria tunnel. This serene nine-acre green space has been a central part of Eastcote for over 500 years. Tenderly cared for by a group of local volunteers, it features a tunnelled walkway teeming with purple wisteria blossoms and golden laburnum. While you're there, look out for Speckled Wood butterflies in the 11-acre meadow and greet the frogs and ladybirds residing in the bug hotel.

Syon Park also boasts an impressive conservatory in the garden, an iconic sight and a popular photography spot throughout the year. This is especially true during the wisteria season, as it features a truly magnificent wisteria plant. Although it's a bit out of the way and truly off the beaten path, it's a fantastic location for those who appreciate history and heritage.

13. Haggerston Park

Haggerston Park is home to veteran wisterias and is a hidden gem for wisteria spotting in London. On the north side of the park, bordered by Whiston Road, there's a long pergola walk where three of the wisterias are located - their massive stems curling up slim brick columns. As the winding growth of these plants intertwines and spreads out above these columns, the flowers cascade down the entire length of the structure during this time of year.

Therefore, it's crucial to time your wisteria tour correctly to witness the wisteria blossom at its peak.
• Wisteria is a vine, so it can be found growing on walls, fences, and trees.
• Be aware that some wisteria displays are on private property, so be respectful and don't trespass.
• If you're planning on taking photos, please be considerate of others who are also trying to appreciate the flowers. If you're aiming for a professional photoshoot, plan accordingly to avoid disappointment, as popular locations can get crowded. On weekends, you'll likely need to arrive as early as 6am to avoid encountering other photographers and models.
