It’s difficult to style flowers in a wide vase without them all leaning out to the rim. But here is a lifehack that solves the issue.
Florists have various techniques for fixing flowers in a place like chicken wire, flower frogs, and foam. However, this is not something that you can find at home when presented with a bunch of flowers. Since most of us don’t keep floral foam and another florist supplies.
So, here is a method of creating a florist styled, natural looking bouquet in a vase with sticky tape.
I have used florist tape, but clear tape will also do. You will need to make a grid with tape to keep your flowers in place when using a shallow vase.
How to arrange
1. Make a grid over the vase. The square holes created by sticky tape should neither be too small to thread through flowers nor too large so the flower will fall through. You can feel your vase with water after the tape in placed or before.
2. Press the tape down onto the edges to secure it. You should also remove any excessive tape, so there will be none sticking out after your flowers are placed.
3. Condition your flowers by cutting all leaves that will be bellow the water line in the vase and cut stems at an angle. Cut stems of the flowers to the same length so they are the same height of the vase.
4. Start placing your flowers from the rim and work in.
5. When you finished placing flowers in the square holes, make sure that there are no visible gaps and add extra blooms if needed. And you are done!
