Harrods in Bloom

Category: Shops

I learned a while ago that Harrods will be making a fragrance garden for the Chelsea flower show and though it sounded intriguing, I wasn’t fully on board. Up until this banking holiday when the shop was redesigned for the ‘Pop-up Flowers’ campaign.

As part of the campaign Harrods window displays were decorated by Luxury brands featuring florals which inspired creations of their products or were used in them. Mainly using exquisite parer flowers or printouts, which were matched to the Harrod’s website theme. I smelled lots of perfume smells while taking pics of the displays, not sure if that was a hallucination or designers used fragrance diffusers as part of the installation. Put together everything left a pleasant impression and a reminder that summer is around the corner.

Inside the store flower installations could be found here and there, not to mention that the food hall featured flower-based treats like chocolate cakes decorated with fresh blooms. While looking for the best delicacies in town I found myself eying gorgeous floral creations carefully made by Moyses Stevens. Those fragrant posies were made of peonies, roses, delphiniums and sweet peas. I could stand there all day long inhaling the sweet aroma, but there were still a couple of floors left that I needed to inspect for their botanical installations.

On the second floor I spotted an installation by Timothy Dunn made out of real plants for a change.

Then I moved in the direction of tea room while almost feeling cakes on my tongue just to find a massive queue at the entrance and as my feet were tired I decided to try my luck elsewhere, leaving flower infused caked and teas for the next time.
