Christmas showcase by Wild at Heart

Category: Shows

Wild at Heart created an amazing Christmas showcase this year. It was a mix of contrasts and strong trends, but instead of fighting each other they looked like a whole – a new fantasy land of Christmas magic. It is easy to say that great vision and design is the domain of celebrity florists, but such approach is fruitless. It is better to learn from such great examples of floral design and apply it in small to grand levels.

So how can we create a bit of such magic at home? Especially if the idea of fitting a big tree in your tiny apartment seems more fantastic than a visit from Santa. This is simple and can be achieved by following simple rules that are so nicely showcased by the Wild at Heart.

1. Don’t be scared of contrasts they can highlight each other and make your design look fantastic.

Wild at heart had a couple of designs that can be broken down to 5 concepts:

Nature’s gifts theme with earth palette and rustic feel
Pure gold – autumnal with gold accents
Elegant Silver – frosty flower centerpiece and accompanying design touches
Modern Pastels – fantastic floral masterpiece with pastel roses and candles
Narnia pine cones – big hanging pine cones in silver and white mixed together with gold foliage

The final theme was linking all other ones together by taking a bit of each theme in it.

2. Think of colour from a wider perspective: make sure that Christmas decor fits your house design and complements it.

3. Think about light. Are you going for a candle light lit dream or maybe lots of Christmas lights is your look? Try it first on a small scale and see how it works from sunrise till sunset. And then, if you like it, go and decorate all the space.

4. Make sure that your designs are fit for purpose and made to last. Christmas season last around one month and it is a lot to demand from your Christmas tree or flower arrangement to look excellent at the end of festivity season provided that you started early. This dilemma can be solved by using top quality faux flowers or by introducing into your design long lasting plants.

Wild at heart used a lot of faux flowers like glitter orchids and long lasting plants like succulents in this showcase and they looked fantastic.

5. Think safety. It is easy to get concerned with the looks only and forget altogether about safety. But no Christmas would be fun if you tree catches fire. So make sure that you are not placing candles near easily inflatable faux flowers or other decorations.

6. And most importantly, do not forget that decorating takes time and patience.

Like the style but, no time to recreate – then you can order Christmas wreath or entire house decor from the Wild at Heart on their website or in store.
